Paycheck budget calculator
Turn monthly bills into a set amount per paycheck, whether you’re paid weekly, biweekly, twice a month, or monthly.
Two months a year have three paychecks. Those extra checks add about $3,600.
How it works
Annual take-home pay is your paycheck times the number of paychecks. Your bills and savings are converted to annual amounts and divided by the number of paychecks to show what to set aside from each one.
If you’re paid every two weeks (26 paychecks), two months a year include a third paycheck. Using those for savings or debt keeps your regular budget steady.
Example
With the sample inputs shown above (Take-home pay per paycheck ($) = 1800; Paychecks per year (52, 26, 24, or 12) = 26; Total monthly bills ($) = 2900; Monthly savings goal ($) = 300), the calculator returns: Average monthly pay: $3,900 ($46,800 a year); Set aside per paycheck: $1,477 (Bills $1,338 + savings $138); Left per paycheck: $323 (Free to spend).
Things to know
Enter pay after taxes and deductions. If you are paid every two weeks, two months of the year include a third paycheck. Treat those as bonus months for savings or debt instead of adding them to regular spending.
